There are a plethora of different methods of online lead generation for network marketers. Leads are essential to any network marketing business. Without a steady stream of interested, pre-qualified prospects coming to you, can’t build a business. To get you started, here are some of the top methods of online lead generation for network marketers, as well as one particular method that you shouldn’t use.

Creating your own landing page with a contact capture form is one of the best ways to acquire leads. You’ll just place a short form on your page that asks for your visitors’ names and email addresses. This information will then go into your auto responder, and you can send the new prospect information via email, since the person will have agreed to receive this information. Of course, you can’t just ask for contact information without giving something in return. You should be offering extraordinary information on your website that the visitor has to “register” to see, or giving away an ebook or report that requires contact information for you to send it.

Today on the internet there are so many people wanting your email address that you must offer your visitors something valuable for them to sign up for your newletter. One of the best ways I have seen this done is to write a short ebook or a “special report”, which can consist of 4-10 pages of information related to what the visitor came to your site for. You can even hire someone to write it for you if you have the budget to do it.

If you want to build a list of customers that will return to you website you will need to get them to sign up for your newletter. I have found that the best way to do this is to offer them something that you know they really want, good information on the topic of your site. That’s how they got there in the first place so you know that they are interested in hearing what you have to say.

If you have a full website advertising yourself, you can include your email address someone on the website, inviting interested persons to contact you for more information. You may not get as many leads this way, but they will be highly targeted leads, which are the most valuable. People who go to the trouble of sending you an email will already be interested in your business, so you won’t have to try quite as hard to sell to them.

One thing you should NEVER do is buy leads. Purchased leads are usually of very poor quality, and out of date. It may sound wonderful to be able to buy hundreds of thousands of names for mere dollars, but it’s never worth it. You’ll just end up wasting your time and your money in the long run.

One of the problems with buying leads from lead companies is that other network marketers will be sold the same list. So you won’t be the only ones calling them, maybe you will be the first or the fifth. Some program promote buying lists because they also have a downline and pay you for your referrals. That doesn’t make the list any better quality.

The Internet has made it possible for anyone to achieve network marketing success. It’s not like the old days when you had to go approach strangers in public and try to sell to your family and friends. Today, you can find interested, qualified prospects throughout the world. Using the top methods of online lead generation for network marketers, you can be very successful, even more than you ever dreamed was possible.

Rank Well in Search Engines and Improve Lead Generation

October 6th, 2008 by David B. Ascot

by David B. Ascot

When you utilise search engine optimisation, you do so to rank well in search engines like Google, MSN, and Yahoo. In Australia, Google dominates the search market, with over 80% of the market share. Tests have also shown that Google searches almost always turn into either sales or inquiries much more often than searches done on other major search engines. In other words, this means that Google generates much more high quality search traffic. That’s a pretty good reason to focus mostly on Google for your search engine strategy.

Once you rank well on Google you normally find that you rank pretty well on the others anyway. I’ll talk you through a three step process for doing search engine optimisation. Obviously, it’s a fairly complex topic and companies spend thousands of dollars for getting this done for them. It all comes down to a pretty much core three-step strategy.

Step 1: Keyword Research You need to establish which keywords and phrases are relevant to your product or services so you can focus your SEO efforts accordingly. For many businesses that serve a local area, keyword research is normally straight forward. The most profitable keywords or phrases are likely to be in the form Your Industry Your Location. For example: “Plumbers Melbourne”, “IT Support Sydney”, “Accountants Perth”. There are also a range of keywords and search tools, including a free tool; inventory.overture.com and also more sophisticated pay tools such as wordtracker.com and keyworddiscovery.com.

Step 2: Optimising on Page Optimise your webpage content. For the best search engine optimisation and rankings, you have to make sure that the right keywords appear on your webpages. This is part of the story, true, but it’s just part of what you have to do to optimise your webpages. Here are some other things you should do to make sure you optimise effectively.

1. Your Page Title Should Be Keyword-Rich. The title that appears in your browser in the blue bar at the very top should have keywords in it; this is because it’s also the title in Google’s search results. Make your title concise, short, and rich in keywords. It should have the most important keywords at the front of the title. As an example, if your carpet installation business is located in Sydney, you can say, “Carpet Installation Sydney - Install Carpet Surry Hills Sydney.” And put the most important keywords at the front of the sentence. You can see that it’s a bit of repetition, but it’s pretty keyword rich and it doesn’t sound too strange, which should get you more exposure.

2. Have a Keyword Rich Description. This is properly called the Meta Description Tag. It is the part of your website code that describes the content on the page. Your descriptions should be keyword rich and written in complete sentences. For our digital printer, the description could read: Digital Printer in Surry Hills, Sydney. Providing Competitive Colour Digital Printing and Binding Services. Print Business Cards, Flyers, Brochures and Menus, Postcards, and More

3. Look at Your Headings. Search engines place great importance on headings because they seem to find important page content. Ensuring that your headings and subheadings are keyword rich is a good start. For example, Full Colour Digital Printing Services in Sydney

4. Page Content Matters, Too. Your page content needs at least one keyword rich textual paragraph per page. You can repeat keywords used in your headings in the content. Use a mix of related keyword phrases, such as, “Carpet Installation Sydney, One-Day Carpet Installation, Fast Carpet Installation,” and so on instead of repeating the same phrases over again.

5. Look At Links. Links are another important indicator of page content. You should avoid generic words and links such as, “Find out more” or “Click here”. Instead, use keyword rich link test such as, “View our complete range of digital printing services”, with “digital printing services” as a link.

Step-3: Off Page Optimisation Off-page optimisation, or linking strategies, is the third and final stage. Every incoming link to your website is considered by Google as a vote for your website content by other websites. The reason why many businesses SEO efforts fail is that they focus exclusively on using keywords on web pages but they lack a linking strategy. Here are a few tips to start pushing your site up the ranks through linking strategies:

1. Encourage Keywords inside Your Incoming Link. For example, if you arrange for a client or supplier to link to your website, you want to ask them to use keywords such as: “cheap digital printing services” in a link rather than your company name, or “Click here”.

2. Consider Using Authority Directories. When you list your site on website directories that are well regarded by search engines, this can improve your rankings. These are so-called “authority” directories and sometimes charge a fee to list there. This keeps out lower quality websites. Three of the most well-respected are botw.org, Yahoo.com.au, and business.com. It should be noted that this is different than using e-mail scams that offer to submit your site are uniformly directors for a fee. Rather, you’ll want to submit your website to directories that search engines regard highly.

The Unlimited Bandwidth Scam

October 6th, 2008 by Ricardo d Argence

by Ricardo d Argence

If you have your own site, a very crucial thing to be aware of is bandwidth. In a nutshell, bandwidth simply refers to the amount of information you’re able to transfer at a specific time.

When you have less bandwidth, your site takes longer to load regardless of what connection your visitors have. With more visitors, each visitor is going to have to wait his or her turn if you don’t have enough bandwidth to accommodate everyone. You have to know how much bandwidth you need while choosing hosting plans.

Be cautious if the company offers you unlimited bandwidth or monthly transfer. It is not true if they tell you they have unlimited bandwidth. Unlimited Bandwidth doesn’t exist.

I’ve never seen any broadband company offering an internet connection as unlimited megabytes per second. So, how could a web hosting company, which normally doesn’t even own its own access lines, claims to customers that it will give them unlimited bandwidth?

Most of the time, high bandwidth sites on these unlimited plans will be disconnected, and no refund given. Normally, the web hosting company will say that the site violated its acceptable use policy or terms of service.

When researching what source you will use to serve your website always read the terms of service for any hidden policies. More information about the so-called Unlimited disclaimer can be found in the fine text.

When you first look for web hosting services (those who state clearly bandwidth offered), you have to make your best estimation and watch your usage carefully in the first few months. Take these factors into consideration while estimating. How many users will access your web site? How many pages to be access? How big are the graphic and HTML files?

Large multimedia files, computer programs, and file downloads require more bandwidth. Flash web sites use tons of bandwidth. Virtual Reality and full length three dimensional presentations require the most bandwidth of all.

Even though it isn’t entirely precise it still allows you to work with something until your site has been up for a good amount of time and until actual statistics have been made. Do not fall for an unlimited bandwidth trap which some companies will toss out in order to lure you in.

September 30th, 2008 by Rob Metras

by Rob Metras

There are myriad ways to promote your website (and yourself) on the Internet. You can easily do this with article marketing. You run a website; obviously, you have knowledge that you can share with others. There’s no better way to do this than with article marketing!

Many people look through online articles to get information on any given subject, everything from colicky babies to planning the retirement trip of a lifetime. Everyone has some experience in some area; you can share with others through your experience or love of a subject.

Numerous articles can be written on your subject. You can begin with a general overview, telling what you know about your subject and your experience with the material you are offering. This will show your readers how knowledgeable you are. Then, add more articles, going more in-depth with your subject matter. Let people know that you have something interesting to share. This will make them want to go to your website and buy what you are selling.

There are many free online sites to which you can submit your articles. This gives you an easy, no-fee way to promote your site and your product! If you click on \”article marketing\” on Google, you’ll find SO many sites where you can register for free and send in your articles! The more articles you send in, the faster you’ll become a published, expert author.

It’s natural to be a little fearful of attempting to write, especially if you’ve been out of school for a while. Relax and write what comes naturally to you; pretend that you’re telling your best friend about your subject in person. Use the word program on your computer so you can edit your article. When you’re finished, read it out loud to yourself to check for mistakes and to make sure that it flows like you want.

One caveat: don’t give away too much information. You want people to go to your site and buy what you’re selling and to need your expertise. Save the best information for your site. Lead your readers to your site by making them want more of what you have to offer.

Submit as many articles as you want, to as many sites as you want! It takes little time and won’t cost you a cent to give article marketing a try! One way to get a good flow is to write a number of articles and submit them as a series.

Video Blog Vs. Traditional Blogging

September 29th, 2008 by Damian Benko

by Damian Benko

Here’s what you need to know about Video blogging. It’s also known as Vlogging and has many things that are superior to the normal form of text-based blogs. It’s not uncommon that more and more folks are taking up this more attractive way of blogging. These new video blogs are the best way for attracting and keeping the attention of your audience. Individuals are more likely to become interested in watching videos on a vlog over reading an ordinary written blog.

It only makes sense that the more viewers you can get excited about your site, the greater the likelihood you’ll have word of mouth spread, which will ultimately lead to more visitors and then more money in your pocket if you’re monetizing your site.

Now, there can also be some disadvantages to video blogging. However, these are easily overcome. Hosting can be a problem and can require quite a bit of server space, which can make it difficult to get started. That’s only if you decide to do the hosting yourself. The great way to host for free is to use a service like YouTube, Google Video or Viddler. Then just take the embed code and copy and paste it up on your site. Let the big boys handle the bandwidth issues and costs for you.

If you want more control and don’t want to use those services you can use a service like Amazon’s storage service called S3. It’s a small fee on a per GB used basis for the size of file and bandwidth used. The fee is very reasonable at about .10/GB to upload and then .17/GB for bandwidth usage. For complete control it is a very small price to pay.

Another difference is the time it takes to process and upload a video file rather than just writing a fast text article on a regular blog. Running and updating a video blog can mean a little more work, especially if you’re not that familiar with filming and then editing your video.

Although, it’s a fact that when you get used to to using video, it really is pretty easy. Creating the videos tends to be the most difficult part for most people.

Also, due to some computers and connections, some individuals may get fed up with uploading or playback issues now and then.

Most people have a fast connect an updated software to handle videos, but keep in mind the market that you are sending to your blog. If they are older folks who don’t know much about the internet still, a video blog might not be the best choice. Just keep your market in mind before you decide.

Either way you choose to go, a regular/traditional or a video blog or even a mix of the two, like I do, just remember to offer your people good solid information that will ultimately help them. And of course, have fun and be yourself!

How to Design better print ads

September 27th, 2008 by Dennis Gartland II

by Dennis Gartland II

1. Headline: On the average, 5x more people read the headline as the body copy. If people like the Headline they will continue to read the body copy. The Headline is what pulls them in. The headline should be simple and clearly state a benefit.

2. News and headlines: Consumers read news stand magazines or news papers to get news. Real news or innovations can be placed in the headline, consumers may even find it a service. They very well could increase readership.

3. How many words in a headline? In headline tests conducted with cooperation from a big department store, it was found that headlines of 10 words or longer sold more goods than short headlines. In terms of recall, headlines between 8-and-10 words are most effective. In mail order advertising, headlines between 6-and-12 words get the must coupon returns. On the average, long headlines sell more merchandise than short ones

4. Speak to Your Prospects: When a specific group consumes your product; Flag them in your headline - mothers, bald people, business owners?

5. Buyers Will Read Long Copy: Readership falls off rapidly up to 50 words, but drops very little between 50 and 500 words. Potential buyers will read longer into an ad. Peak their interest with the headline, and then sell them in the copy.

6. Before and After Ads: Before and after ads are above average at grabbing the consumers attention. Contrast tends to work well. Readers also seem to have an above average understanding of what the ad is saying.

7. Photos vs. Art: Photos work better than drawings most of the time. Consumers prefer to feel things are “genuine.” The photo should help pull readers in. It must be related to the benefit of to the goods you are selling. The photograph has to have story appeal.

8. Captions: Twice as many people read the captions under photographs as read the body copies. Never place a photo without a caption. Because Associated Press Style calls for captions under photos people expect it.

9. Editorial layout vs. Addy Layout: The more the ad looks like the editorial in the magazine generally the higher the readership. The addy layout is much easier to get approved by the CEO of the company you are representing. A good ad agency will take the time to explain to the CEO that they know much more about their product that the consumer.

10. Test and Retest Readership has been known to increase with repetition. Continually test new ads against the old ones and run the winner.

How to Write A Profitable Sales Letter In Less Than 48 Hours

September 26th, 2008 by Paul Mahon

by Chris Stafford

A good sales letter can be compared to a sales representative, except you don’t have to pay your sales letter or give it time off for vacation. A sales letter instead is your 24-hours/day, 7-days/week and 365-days/year tireless virtual sales rep whose laser-focused to accomplish three things: represent you, your business and your product or service without fail. However in order for your sales letter to be successful, it must be persuasive, compelling, thought-provoking and high-converting. It must also be written to target a specific market of consumers. If you are someone who is selling a product or service, you need to learn how to write a sales letter based on the above criteria in order to be successful.

What are the main reasons why marketers have a hard time writing a sales letter for their product or service? In short, most people who are inexperienced with writing in general, hate to write and marketers are no exception to the rule. A more detailed explanation is that because there is a wealth of information online on the subject of how to write a sales letter, most marketers soon become overwhelmed with information and give up. Not to mention the fact that most of this information was written under the assumption that the marketer (you) already knows whow to write a sales letter.

Then comes along the marketer who has been online for a while and knows where to look to find solutions such as sales letter software and templates to help him with automating the task of writing a sales letter. But after lauching the sales letter software and perusing the template, he soon realizes that he is no better off than he was before. Why? Because very often the vendor who wrote the information described in the previous paragraph, also wrote the software based on the assumption that the marketer is already familiar with writing a sales letter.

So how do they do it? How can other marketers put together compelling, persuasive and thought-provoking sales letters that sell their products and services like crazy but without using sales letter software and templates? It’s simple, these marketers are either experienced copywriters themselves who write their own sales letters or they have adequate resources to hire the job out. But before you consider hiring a pro copywriter to construct a sales letter for your product or service, consider this. Most copywriters will charge you between $5,000 up to a whopping $20,000 per sales letter! If you decide to go this route, you better be sure that your product or service is in great demand so that you can absorb this expense.

If you know for certain that your product or service is in high demand and that you can overcome the cost of hiring a pro copywriter to craft a sales letter custom-tailored to sell your product or service then by all means, go for it. If not, you can save yourself some money and write your own profitable sales letter at no cost by adopting the writing styles of other successful marketers sales letters in your niche.

For example, launch your browser and visit Google (www.google.com). Key in the phrase “allintitle:cars that run on water” (minus the quotes) into the search field, click the search button and wait for your results to appear. Examine your results to see if anything grabs your attention. If so, click on that result and if its a sales letter that meets all of the criteria described earlier, copy the text of the sales letter into your favorite word processor or text editor. Thoroughly re-write the content of the sales letter and make sure that it is relevant to your product or service. Save your revised sales letter and shut down your computer for the day. Re-visit it the next day with fresh eyes to polish up your sales letter.

Another handy technique you might want to use to learn how to write a sales letter is to join the email lists of gurus who sell products or services in your area of interest. In a few days or so, you’ll begin receiving pitch emails in your inbox promoting the latest and greatest gadget or membership site. But don’t just trash these emails. Instead, read through the subject lines and see if any of them jump out at you. Does any one of the subject lines compel you to want to purchase the product or service? If one or more of them do, click on the email and look for a direct link to the sales letter then click this link to load your browser on the sales page. Follow the steps as discussed in the previous paragraph to re-write your sales letter. Adopt this and the method mentioned in the previous paragraph for an entire month and before you realize it, you’ll have enough experience to crank out a profitable sales letter for all of your products or services for many years to come!

Taking the time to learn how to write a sales letter to sell your product or service can prove to be the most profitable skill you’ll ever master. Why? Because you only have one chance to make a good first impression. If your sales letter is persuasive, compelling , thought-provoking, high-converting and consists of the six essential elements, then you can expect to generate day job replacing income for many years to come. If not, then you may as well get used to working a 9-to-5 for the rest of your life. In our next article, we’ll dissect a sales letter into its six essential parts and show you exactly what makes up a successful sales letter that will sell your software, info product or service like crazy!

But is there an easier way? Is it possible for you to write a sales letter without having to use the above techniques or remember everything that goes into writing a profitable sales letter? Yes, there is a much easier way and it requires very little knowledge or effort on your part. This tool includes everything you need to start writing a sales letter for whatever product or service you want to sell.
